I miss you every day...

I miss Willow when she is sleeping. Is that silly? I miss her when I am at work and she is at daycare.

I really can't imagine my life without her. This is one of the reasons that when I see stories on the news like "Police shoot man for killing toddler" I don't read them..

I recently read a book by Stephanie Meyer called The Host. It's about aliens who are the size of a caterpillar who invade earth and use human bodies as "Hosts". They basically just take over the lives of the humans they inhabit. Since the invasion, humans are almost non-existent. Society is now one in which everyone gets along and works together for the common good. There is no money and everyone does their fair share.

One of the reasons the aliens had for invading and taking over earth is the violence that is rampant in human nature. They could not understand the need for anger and violence and I have to say I agree. Do I think aliens should come and take over the planet? Well, no. But all you have to do is turn on the news at any given time to see the latest shooting or robbery or war and it makes me sad.

Since my daughter was born I find that I have this drive to give her a better world. I want her to breathe clean air and have access to health care and go to college. Anything that I have to do to give her those things, I want to do. I just wish that everyone felt the same way.
