Ever since Willow was born people kept telling me how "time flies" and "before you know it they are teenagers". I was working out yesterday at Curves and one of the circuit coaches (who is 1 year older than me) was saying how she remembers holding her daughter in her arms as a baby (her daughter is a teenager now) and every time she sees a baby it seems like yesterday.
You really don't appreciate how time flies until you are a mom and you see your baby growing up so fast.
First they just lay there looking at you.
Then they roll over to see the world from a new angle.
Then they start doing things like sitting up and pulling up.
Then they are crawling.
Then they are walking.
And that is often times all in the first year.
And although it all happens right before your eyes, you wonder how the time passed you by so quickly.
Willow is 8 months old. Before I know it she will be a year old. Then I will blink and she will be 5 and getting ready for school. Then she will be graduating and then getting married and having children of her own. And I will sit there and wonder anew where the time went.
Is it selfish to want her to stay a baby forever? I didn't know how much love I had until I became a mom.
