A Dad's Perspective - Helping out.

If you’re going to have children, why wouldn’t you want to spend time with them? I hear stories about fathers who don’t help take care of the baby, because that’s the woman’s job. My neighbor washes his cares every couple of days. With three kids maybe it’s just his way of not having to be in the house with them? I had a guy tell me “some women like being told what to do because that’s what it says in the bible.”

A couple of thoughts… I like to do things myself, because then I know it gets done the way I want it to be done. So instead of complaining about how my wife doesn't do _______ correctly I just do it myself. If our daughter is crying, and my wife is not having any luck with calming her down I have no problem walking around with her. It gives my wife a break and the change of scenery usually is all it takes make my daughter happy. If there is a mess it’s not going to get cleaned up by itself. Instead of standing and watching someone work, help them. You’ll finish in half the time and then you can both relax.
