Mommy Vomitpants on Facebook

June 22, 2008

The wee-bit is sleeping

So, I thought I'd do a quick technical update in here.

This week we will be (hopefully) rolling out the new look of the website courtesy of my friend (and lovely artist) Amanda Robbins. Please visit her website Dreams In Color and look with awe at her amazing talent.

Along with the roll out, we will hopefully have Mommy Vomitpants merchandise coming. How exciting is that?

You may be thinking, "Who is going to buy that?" Well, I hope some people will but if they don't that's fine too. I have made a total of zero dollars (and counting) on this website and that's fine with me. Sure, it would be nice to make a few bucks here and there but it's not a requirement for me to keep it going. It's so funny (boo hoo not ha ha) because I spend so much of my time working on this site. But that's okay. Even if only 10 people a day read it, that's all that matters. I mean we have been in business for a little over a month now and I have actual subscribers to my feed and that is fantastic and I sincerely thank those of you who read what I write every day.

I try to get a lot done on the weekends by writing and then "scheduling" posts to come out at a later date. That's one of the great features about Blogger. I currently have 17 posts ready to come out over the next month and I'll be adding more as it hits my fancy. I am going to try and get away from my "In the News" segment and on to other things. I'll still have that series, just not every day like I had been trying to do.

Anyway, I have a ton to do before going to bed but I'll leave you with this...I was watching the news yesterday (no, it's not all I watch on TV) and I saw a piece about this woman who referred to herself as a part time stay at home mom. I thought that was interesting. Aren't all moms who have to work "part time stay at home moms"? Or, did I miss something?

ETA:
For those of you SAHM's offended at the notion that a mom who works 40 out of the 168 hours in the week could possibly be considered a "part time SAHM" you really need to get over yourself. I live for the weekends when I get to STAY AT HOME with, and care for, my daughter.
