I admit that I was a bit disappointed in my first Mother's Day this year. My husband, David, didn't get me a present. Well, he did get me something I asked for. It was a caramel Apple from Mrs. Prindible's. We saw it featured on Good Eats over the winter and purchased their Triple Chocolate and never looked back.
Anyway, this was a present, yes. But not anything that was a keepsake for my first Mother's day. And I know that men don't think the way we do. They are not all emotional and slobbery about stuff like this. He later tried to compensate by getting me a book I had been wanting and tracing Willow's hands on the inside cover. And I thought it was wonderful but when I have to ask you to do something it's just not the same as if you did it on your own.
So, I am not going to make this mistake. I have ordered a present for my husband, which will remain nameless as he is a contributer here.
The point of this post? To remind you not to leave the "Dad's" of your life out on this father's day. I know people say that a Gift Certificate is like the worst present ever but when it's something that is versatile like an Amazon Gift Certificate (hint hint) I don't think you can go wrong. (And a nice card is always a welcome addition)
