If you are in a situation where you can afford it, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting in that "one last trip alone" before the little one arrives. I know, people keep telling you how "your life will never be the same." and "it's hard to have a new baby." and you feel like you've heard it all before and you KNOW for crying out loud!! But the thing is, you really and truly have no idea. Oh, you THINK you have a clue as to what life with a baby is going to be like but let me assure you, you don't.

Take the hardest thing you have ever done in your life and multiply it by 10 and you start to see what life with a new baby is like. It is a HUGE adjustment for you and your significant other. This is why you should cherish the time you have left before that first baby is born and take a little vacation if you can. Even if it's just for a day or two. Getting your mind off of the coming baby and on your relationship is a MUST. Especially with a first born as they tend to be late. Nothing is worse than expectant friends and grandparents calling you every day (sometimes more than once) when your due date comes and goes. You know, in case you forgot to call them and tell them that the baby is here. BELIEVE ME, I lived it.
