LASIK - Two Weeks Later

So, it's been a little over two weeks since my LASIK procedure. I thought I'd do a quick update to tell you how things are going.

Overall, I can see very well. I STILL look for and try to take off my glasses that no longer exist. My vision at night is not nearly as good as during the day, (I still have halos at night) but I can see more than well enough to drive and that's the only time I really notice it since I am mostly indoors at night.

It is a nuisance to not be able to rub my eyes but I am trying to get used to it. It has crossed my mind as to whether or not it counts as "rubbing" when Willow (unintentionally) smacks me in the eye, but I try not to think about it. I have also been wearing eye makeup since Monday and that has been going well but it tends to need reapplication since the eye drops kind of wash it out.

The biggest bother (although it's getting a lot better) is the "dry eye". I am able to make my own tears, which I count in the "very good" column. It may sound silly but I read the Rainbow Bridge to try and get a good cry going and it's getting easier but I still require frequent use of the eye drops. This is 100% normal and expected.

Anyway, I would say that I am not quite 20/20 with my vision but it is better then the day after my procedure so it is getting better.

I would still recommend the surgery to anyone who is a good candidate. I hope my experience can help you make a decision (if you were pondering LASIK)!

Next update: after my 1-month follow-up appointment on September 11th.
