We have found that simple is always the best. (Well, almost always)
Is your baby or toddler tired of all the fancy-schmancy toys that ring and clang and bang? You are not alone. Although Willow loves her toys that make noise, I have found that the simpler the toy, the better. And those simple toys don't make any more noise than you get from your kid banging them on the table or floor.
Willow literally puts a Tupperware lid on the floor and pushes it around on her knees. She also does this with wooden blocks. Although it looks a bit awkward to us, she is having a ball and cracking up laughing. She will spend lots of time with a plain old box. Opening it and closing it and looking inside. And nope, there is nothing in it (most of the time). She is just plain curious.
So, pull out that Tupperware that you aren't using and don't put that box that was just shipped to you in the recycle bin just yet. Let your kid have a go at them before you decide to put them away and I guarantee they will love it.
A better idea? Fill a drawer with the stuff where they can get to it. Not only will they love opening and closing the drawer, they will love taking out and putting stuff in it.
Another idea? Bubbles. For about $1 you can get a jar of bubbles and have hours of bubbly fun. Willow loves looking at the bubbles and trying to "catch" one.
Just some simple advice that may occupy your kid for a few minutes while you do the dishes or something else you have been putting off.
